Our individuals and teams have experience of working on projects of all sizes in highly regulated environments,
where the extra complexity can present additional challenges.
Extensive experience allows us to select the right technique and approach to deliver first class results for
every client.
Virtual & Mixed Reality
Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality (MR) can provide significant benefits and opportunities for the development
of projects and the management of operational assets. VR and MR can support and enhance Digital Engineering processes such
as Building Information Modelling (BIM), Asset Information Management (AIM) and asset Digital Twins.
VR and MR have the power to transform the way we manage our projects, assets, businesses and the way we engage with
stakeholders. The technology allows us to create and stimulate real world situations in safe and controlled environments.
Premtech has the capability to create virtual environments to support interactive visualisation with sites,
installations and systems within the energy sector. VR and MR technologies enable interaction with the virtual environments.
Premtech has developed workflows and extensive component libraries for various engineering technologies and industry
sectors.
Training
Combining VR and MR technology along with 3D visualisation software; highly interactive and engaging training
environments can be developed and deployed affordably on scalable platforms, including mobile technologies.
Virtual training provides hands-on participation in environments that mirror the real world in both form and function.
The ‘learn by doing’ VR or MR experience can be undertaken on reality headsets, a desktop computer or a hand-held tablet,
accelerating user training and minimising the cost of training deployment.
VR and MR based training solutions are not dependent on the procurement, manufacture and maintenance of complex test
rigs. Digital learning provides a solution for the delivery of operation and maintenance training so operatives can
learn in a fault tolerant environment. Immersive environments facilitate navigation of virtual site assets and operational
installations to evaluate and rehearse critical operations and maintenance activities.
Asset Management
VR and MR support the objectives and requirements of Asset Information Models (AIM) and asset Digital Twins,
which provide a better awareness of the operational and maintenance needs of assets.
Decision making regarding operational and maintenance planning as well as expenditure can be improved through
comprehensive and accurate information and records contained or referenced within the virtual asset model or asset
Digital Twin. Interaction with the virtual asset model can be facilitated through VR and MR headset technologies.
The digital model can be created by the use of 3D laser scanning, photogrammetry and advanced component
recognition techniques, which will ensure an accurate and true to life representation of the physical asset.
Stakeholder Engagement
By using MR headsets 3D interactive models can be anchored in real space, fusing the physical and holographic world
to give stakeholders an unprecedented sense of scale and space.
Stakeholders can evaluate and discuss the operational asset design and development with remote participants within a
single shared MR experience, prior to procurement and construction. VR site walk-throughs can give a true-to-life view
of asset infrastructure and place a level of significance on shared information that satisfies the requirements of BIM.
Seeing a design first hand through VR or MR provides users with a new perspective during preliminary project stages.
Ultimately, gaining useful insights from another perspective can reduce complications during subsequent phases of a
project, from detail design and construction, through to operation and maintenance.
